The way that each individual person touches my heart, is unique. Every encounter has it's own story and each "Dirty Kid" grows my heart in a new way. I am grateful for every person who allows me to help them and who reaches for my hand up. I appreciate the Folks I help, as much as I do those that bless me with their donations, so I can continue this mission.
Accepting help is much harder than offering it! Often, people will tell me I am "selfless", which humbles me greatly. I think the opposite is true. I am selfish in the fact that helping others makes me happy. I get a huge rush out of encouraging people, and it makes me feel good, when I do good. When I help someone, I am the one who truly gains.
The emotional energy that I try to convey to all people is extremely positive and uplifting. I truly want the best for every person that I meet, regardless of their societal classification. The people that thank me in these letters are very beautiful and strong Humans. When they were in a time of need, they accepted a hand up when it was offered to them, and that takes amazing strength. To each and every "Dirty Kid" I help off the streets, I say Thank You!

"If it wasn't for Amber, my best friend Jasmine, our lovely friend Dustin and I would not have made it to Portland in time to catch a flight home. I had just sold my bright orange van named Peaches and we were headed north from Crescent City, California. We didn't have a vehicle but we needed to be in Portland within the coming 24 hours. We had heard so much about the angel called Amber from Dustin, who had met her a few months before. He said he would call her and see if she could come help us. We were excited to finally meet her. Not only did we meet her but she drove us all the way from the northern part of California all the way to Portland, Oregon in one day! We didn't have to hitchhike, which could have been very dangerous, and we didn't even pay a penny. Only love! Not to mention, I left my beloved Canon camera in her vehicle upon our arrival to Portland, and she returned it to me safe and sound. Amber really is an incredible being of light, love, kindness, and generosity. She has helped me, my friends, and countless others on their journeys up, down and across country. She is a joy to be around and truly a saint. Thank you for everything you do and stand for Amber. You are honestly a hero of mine! Love you oodles ♡"

"My husband and I were on our way to work in Northern Washington when first our water pump broke in Umatilla, just over the border in Oregon. We managed to fix it but that took all of the money we had left to get us to our jobs. As we came to the exit in Kennewick our head gasket blew so we limped our car to the WalMart parking lot on 27th and Quillan st. We were stuck there for a couple days with no money, just the food we had packed into the car, and really no hope for help since neither of us had family in the state and we didnt know anyone. We tried signing to come up with some cash to fix our car but in all honesty we were no good at it. One day my husband was signing at the first exit/entry to the store parking lot while I sat in the car waiting my turn to sign when my husband came back and told me we were going to have some company. A few minutes later this monstrous Malamute walked by a hippy with dreads came up and introduced themselves, Jacen and Molnjir, Mo being the Malamute and Jacen being the hippy. He asked us about our circumstances and what had landed us in our current spot and just sat and visited with us a while. After a bit we met Amber, she had also been signing but not for the same reason as my husband and I. Amber and Jacen signed to raise money to buy food, blankets, anything that the homeless and needy could need. They took us under their wing, gave us some food and even took us back to their hotel room so we could take a shower and wash some clothes. Do you know what it feels like to not have a shower for over a week and then the amazing feeling of washing and being clean again? Let me tell you it is one of the most fantastic feelings in the world! Amber and Jacen fed us supper that night and for the duration of their stay in the Tri-cities. They checked up on us whenever they were back in our area to make sure we were doing ok! They truly care about people and what they are going through. And they truly want to help the needy and "dirty kids" as they call the homeless, to better themselves and their circumstances. We eventually were able to get into a hotel with help from a church organization and money we had made signing. Our sign flying skills were much better after getting a few pointers Jacen and Amber really inspired us to do better and to stay positive because no matter how bad our current situation was, they showed us it can always get better and there is always something to be thankful for! We now have a place to stay, jobs, and food in our bellies and an ever optimistic outlook on life, thanks to these amazing people who always had a smile and a friendly word for everyone no matter what the person looked like (or smelled like in our case!)
